“My heart became hot within me. As I mused, the fire burned; then I spoke with my tongue[.]” Psalms 39:3, ESV

Hey. I’ll put the important stuff down below, but I wanted to preface it with who I am, what I do, and what I’d like to.
I am a Christian, because I was chosen. I’m an artist, which means, in this case, that I really suck at painting but I write good words and can make a drum sound funky. But, ja – Creating is kind of my jam. I’m just getting into documentary style (i.e. moving life) photography, and as the cool kids say, “It’s pretty rad.” Not sure what I want to do in the long term, but I know I’ll be making. And I’d like to work with words – or at least, that’s what I told the press. Okay, enough of this.

Was once driven away from a campfire by a grumpy hippo.

Jumped off a bridge into the Mississippi.

Have run around my house barefoot (twice through snow) on 2 3 (happy 2015) consecutive years.

Swallowed a minnow whole. (Not sure if that’s awesome… but it did happen.)

Slapped Tenth Avenue North lead singer Mike Donehey on the back in passing. (It wasn’t aggressive or anything; more of a “keep making wicked awesome music you manly beast” kind of thing.)

Befriended Rob the Mushroom Guy in southern Africa.

Got excellent wool socks from Grandma for Christmas. YESSSSS.

Wrote a couple articles for The Lutheran Ambassador.

Was a character in HowlSage by Brock D. Eastman. A librarian, actually.

Was introduced to Ethiopian food by grandparents (on mom’s side.) Also Afghan, Mongolian, and maybe Indian? The Afghan guy asked my brother to come back for belly-dancing lessons sometime.

A month or two ago, my second bro (who sleeps on the bunk above me) said, in his sleep, “1… 2… 3… [and then whispered:] Guys… that was 3.

Saw, among many other wondrous films, Star Wars III on opening night with my padre.

Went to the FLY (Free Lutheran Youth) Conference several times. All of them were the best.
