Through Warped Glass :: Breaking the Window
Caught this out the window of our cabin up in Canadia. In building our cabin, I realized over and over (and over) throughout our stay in le cabine des cheapynezz, the contractor wasn’t looking for quality- he was looking for quantity. And I betcha’ he got the faulty glass at a low low price!
But what do you think when you look through that window? The sun that you’re looking at isn’t real. It doesn’t really look like that. A swirly sun? That sounds like something you’d find in a kids book; the kind with spotted unicorns. And cute little talking squirrels.
And the roof on that gazebo is straight, not curved. It doesn’t look like Dr. Seuss in real life. No matter how cool that would be. :-) But some people insist on looking through the window. In fact, most of the world just can’t turn their eyes away. Even though deep down, they know that the truth isn’t twisted and warped, like a fun house mirror. The real world is vibrant, and beautiful.
God made the ground we stand on. He made the bird in the pine tree outside my window. He made my body out of dust, and gave me life from His breath.
THE VIEW THROUGH THE WINDOW
It’s kind of hazy, but I think I see a big explosion. Planets are just popping out of nowhere. And life! From pond scum, to monkeys, to human beings! Gee-Willikers!
I have a challenge for you today: Break the window. Take a glimpse at the real world.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you
into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know
God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
