  1. “If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.”

    My favorite Lewis quote =)
And I’m putting your button up and posting about this!!!!!!!

  3. Awesome blog! And- dare I say it?- awesome giveaway!! :) I have many favorite C.S. Lewis quotes…he was an awesome guy and said lots of amazing stuff, but I think my absolute favorite is:
“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
Yes, ’tis long. But ah well.

  4. I’m entering for my daughter Seleia, who is 7 years old and loves the Chronicles of Narnia just like her Auntie Earwen. I asked her about her favorite CS Lewis quote and she is adamant that the laughs every time Edmund meets the White Witch, who inquires:
“I see you are an idiot, whatever else you may be,” said the Queen.”Answer me, once and for all, or I shall lose my patience. Are you human?”

(BTW we read about the giveaway on Earwen’s blog!)

  5. “I’m on Aslan’s side even if there isn’t any Aslan to lead it. I’m going to live as like a Narnian as I can even if there isn’t any Narnia.”
    — C.S. Lewis (The Silver Chair)

  6. Sweet!!! :D I LOVE Narnia, and I’d love to enter!! One of my favorite C.S. Lewis quotes is this:

“We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.”

  7. “Make your choice, adventurous Stranger,
Strike the bell and bide the danger,
Or wonder, till it drives you mad,
What would have followed if you had.”
    — C.S. Lewis (The Magician’s Nephew)

  8. My favorite quote of his is at the end of “The Last Battle”…
“‘The term is over: the holidays have begun. The dream is ended: this is the morning.’ And as He spoke He no longer looked to them like a lion; but the things that began to happen after that were so great and beautiful that I cannot write them…for it was only the beginning of the real story…”

AND I blogged about it. ;-)

  9. And I love this quote…”I have come home at last! This is my real country! I belong here. This is the land I have been looking for all my life, though I never knew it till now…Come further up, come further in!”

  10. Ooh, cool! My favorite Lewis quote? Ahh, I have too many! I love all the ones that have been previously posted. Here’s an opening line that always makes me crack up:

“There was a boy called Eustace Clarence Scrubb, and he almost deserved it.”
~The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

  11. My favourite quote is probably…
“(The Christian) does not think God will love us because we are good, but that God will make us good because He loves us.” I also really like:
“I’m on Aslan’s side even if there isn’t any Aslan to lead it. I’m going to live as like a Narnian as I can even if there isn’t any Narnia.” -Silver chair

I posted on my blog about this:]

  12. Hello!Read about your giveaway on Aspire, Hannah’s blog.
I never could resist a good competition…Here is my all time favorite C.S.Lewis quote:

“You come of the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve. And that is both honor enough to erect the head of the poorest beggar and shame enough to bow the shoulders of the greatest emperor on earth. Be content.”
    – Aslan in Prince Caspian

My name ought to give you the link to my Narnia blog…
